We are delighted to share that the June edition of our School Newsletter is now available! As we close out another busy and rewarding term, this edition offers a heartfelt reflection on the incredible progress, experiences, and achievements of our pupils.

A smiling child in a life jacket enjoys a boat ride on a sunny river. Text: Craighalbert Courier, Issue 6, June 2025, Enabling children to achieve.

One of the term’s standout moments was the Senior Phase residential trip to Bendrigg Activity Centre. This was more than just a change of scenery, it was a transformative experience. Watching each pupil rise to new challenges with enthusiasm and courage was genuinely inspiring. Over four days, they embraced unfamiliar surroundings, tried new activities, and supported each other with confidence and joy. The trip not only highlighted their resilience and adaptability, but also marked a significant step in developing independence away from home.

Back at school, we also celebrated the remarkable achievements of our Senior pupils in their SQA National 1 qualifications. Each success represents a journey of dedication, learning, and personal growth, and we are so proud of every milestone reached.

We ended the term on a high with our Celebration of Achievement event, a wonderful chance to recognise the progress made across our nursery and school. It was a whirlwind of learning, laughter, and discovery. From developing new skills and growing in confidence to communicating more independently using switch-access or eye-gaze technology, the range and depth of our pupils’ accomplishments is nothing short of inspiring.

As always, our newsletter captures the spirit of Craighalbert, one of perseverance, joy, and possibility. We hope you enjoy reading it and celebrating the incredible journey our pupils have taken this term.
