Craighalbert logo in the top left corner and the title in navy text at the top right. Three images show a pupil communicating with a teacher using a PODD book, a child in a wheelchair using a white bowling ramp to roll a blue ball, and a young boy smiling on a float in a pool while supported by two staff members. A blue banner at the bottom reads “Enabling Children to Achieve” in white text.

We are pleased to share that our Annual Report for 2024/25 is now available, offering a reflective overview of a year defined by growth, learning and new opportunities.

This year has been about embracing innovation in ways that make a tangible difference to children and families. A particular highlight has been the launch of our Water Space Programme, which offers parent and child swim sessions in partnership with Turtle Tots. The programme provides both therapeutic benefits for children and valuable opportunities for families to connect with and support one another.

We have also continued to strengthen our focus on communication and assistive technology. From the use of Eyegaze and switches to the universal adoption of PODD books, we are creating an environment where every child can express themselves, participate in learning, and build meaningful connections in ways that reflect their individuality.

Alongside our work within the Centre, we remain committed to sharing learning and influencing practice nationally. This year we presented findings from our early learning and childcare research for children with PMLD at the British Association for Community Child Health Conference, as well as delivering poster presentations at conferences across the country. We were also delighted to collaborate with Architecture & Design Scotland, who, inspired by Craighalbert, developed a suite of digital resources on inclusive school design. Through this partnership, our learning is reaching practitioners across Scotland and extending our impact well beyond our Centre.

The Annual Report also highlights our key achievements, school activities, early intervention work, events, community engagement and partnerships, alongside an overview of funding and fundraising during the year.

We invite you to read the report and join us in reflecting on a year of progress, ambition and shared commitment to enabling children to achieve.
